Fred Rinnert was a man assigned to the Cyber unit of the Defense Intelligence Agency who was also responsible for the death of Marine Captain Trent Reynolds. He was later sent to NCIS to keep track of a laptop that NCIS had taken as evidence and which was in the hands of Abigail Sciuto. Upon realizing that the NCIS Major Case Response Team along with Hollis Mann of the Army CID had discovered the truth, Rinnert attempted to flee, only for the team to confront him with the evidence. After this, Rinnert was arrested, taken into custody and then jailed for his crimes.
