Palmyra is an ancient city in the Levant, located in what is now Syria. It was founded by Suleiman the Wise (also known as King Solomon) and became a stronghold of the Taftani. In 267 CE the Taftani Queen Zenobia waged a war of conquest from Anatolia to Egypt, openly using magic to aid her forces. She was defeated in 274 by Roman forces with the help of the Order of Hermes, and in the process the Taftani lost their major power center.
