Starbuck was a Jedi Master during the Seswenna Security Crisis. He had been a Padawan of m'Ord Vinka, who eventually became Grand Master of the Jedi Order. He was a disciple of his master's teachings, staunchly forbidding any expression of emotion or taking part in anything that was viewed as "carnal." They established the secret society "Opus Lucem" within the Jedi Order to reflect these tenants. Eventually, Starbuck took the Omwati Shalli as a Padawan, attempting to instill his radical beliefs within her. He also was granted a seat on the Jedi High Council, and attempted to gain power when m'Ord Vinka died on Seswenna. Starbuck directly confronted Master Yoda and Supreme Chancellor Anwis Eddicus after the Grand Master's death to this end.
