It has a size and shape comparable to that of the extinct Eurasian badger. It makes nightly forays through the undergrowth and will take any prey that it chances upon. It has a long snout and broad forepaws with which it digs after burrowing prey animals and excavates its own family nest in soft soil under tree roots.
