Captain Ian Jenkins was an airline pilot who owned a very impressive house in Cheadle. He let Jon Lindsay look after the property while he and his family were away in Singapore for six months. Jon used the house to his own ends to impress Deirdre Rachid; keeping up the deception that he himself was an airline pilot. Jon also stole his identity to fraudulently obtain a large mortgage and gold credit card. In January 1998, Captain Jenkins went to his bank to complain about someone withdrawing money from his account.
