These large bat-winged predators had sharp talons, a hooked beak and elongated heads used as rudders. Nightsingers were known for their eerie calls and whistles. Their high-pitched screams were used for communication and as a form of sonar to maneuver through windswept canyons and locate prey. They were traditionally hunted by members of the Hejaran family, who used gliders to reach their nesting areas high in canyon crags.
