The awards are presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press. The Hollywood Foreign Press is the only thing Stephen hates more than Hollywood. It should be called either the Hollywood Foreign or the Hollywood Press. The Golden Globe Awards try to compete against the Oscars and the Emmys by presenting awards for both film and television in the same night.
