A Quartine, is somebody who contains blood of all four human species. They can also be referred to as a tetrarch. Gilhaelith took the title of tetrarch, to mock his grandmother, for failing to succeed in creating a quartine as she so desperatly wanted to, as a memorial to Rulke.
