Aruval is a minor character in Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors. Some time prior to the beginning of the game, he is transformed into a hideous monster by the power of the mostly dormant but emerging Xiphos. Losing his grip on the better part of his humanity, he runs (or, more likely, swims) far from his homeland; his sister Fleurette immediately drops everything and gives chase, but loses track of him. Aruval is first appears in the FMV following the game's tutorial, where he is seen from behind as he slowly sinks into the ocean near Castle Avalonia.
