The Anomaly was detected by the Anomaly Detection Device during Stephen Hart's funeral sometime after March 4th, 2007. The Anomaly Research Centre called James Lester who informed Nick Cutter, he and the ARC team head off toward the unknown Anomaly location it in their vehicles. (Episode 2.7).
