Gogol was a male humanoid criminal who haunted the Dor (Splendor Tavern) on Coruscant in the final years of the Galactic Republic, before the Clone Wars. Gogol sold Obi-Wan Kenobi information about the slave-raider Krayn's dealings with the Colicoids, about which ties the Jedi Master had been suspicious since Krayn's attack on a Colicoid cargo ship that Kenobi and his Padawan were escorting, and its captain's rage at Krayn, as if the assault and resultant offense taken had been of a personal nature.
