94th Rifle Corps, later renamed the 24th Rifle Corps and finally 99th Rifle Division, was an elite infantry unit in the ground forces of the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War. It was led by Colonel Žarko Pavelić, and served on several fronts, including Yavin IV and Hoth. The members of the division specialized in using rifles, and were considered some of the best infantrymen in the Alliance Army outside of the Special Forces. Due to taking high casualties throughout the war, it was constantly down graded in size, until eventually being disbanded altogether. Later, the 96th Rifle Corps was created in the New Republic Army in honor of the 94th.
