From the Wikipedia page [1] Tyne and Wear Archives Service (TWAS) is the record office for the metropolitan county of Tyne and Wear, in North East England. TWAS preserves documents relating to the area from the 12th to the 21st century and provides free access to them for all. Since 1976 Tyne and Wear Archives Service has been located at Blandford House, Newcastle upon Tyne, the former headquarters of the North East Co-op, which it shares with Tyne and Wear Museums and the Discovery Museum.
