Badges are awarded by admins in recognition of excellent contributions to single articles. This is in contrast to awards, which recognise general contributions or contributions in excess of badges. Badges operate in the same way as war medals. The best way to receive a badge is to conduct a major rewrite of an article. Once the rewrite is done, submit to an active admin for consideration.
