The battle dwarf is the second tier upgraded unit of the Sorceress faction in Heroes of Might and Magic II, recruited by upgrading the cottage. The battle dwarf is significantly faster than the dwarf, and has better defense, allowing it to be more useful both as an offensive unit and as a defensive unit.
