Janet Saxon was the wife of Harlan Saxon, the foster mother of Robert Foxworth, and a resident of 710 Figueroa Terrace in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles where she had lived for 21 years. By 2006 she was blind and confined to a wheelchair. She rented her garage to Foxworth, whom she calls Bobby, in order to bring in a little extra money. In September 2006 she heard noises in her house and got out her long-barrel revolver to defend herself, although she could not have seen well enough to shoot anything. The intruder was Harry Bosch and he took the gun from her.
