Roughly ten thousand years ago, the heroic Ancient Dragon of Life battled and defeated Divine Spirit Dracon. However, before Dracon was destroyed, he casts a spell, cursing himself and his opponent to repeat their battle periodically for ten thousand years, in one form or another, until the day of their eventual final battle. Ten thousand years later (present day), the Divine Spirit Dracon, possessing a walking corpse, battles Ancient Dragon of Life, who has split into Ancient Yin Dragon and Ancient Yang Dragon. Dracon is assisted by the Spirit Beasts, while Ancient Dragon of Life is assisted by the Duelist Ned and the Ancient Cards. Dracon is defeated in the end when the Ancient Dragon of Life is returned to his former glory.
