Jeff Burton won his sixth and final race of the year, holding off brother Ward by a third of a second. It was the third time the brothers had finished 1-2 on the year, a modern era record. Dale Jarrett, meanwhile, finished 4th and held a 246-point championship lead on Bobby Labonte (3rd).
