Colonel Sir John Ernest Perring (16 January 1870 – 23 March 1948) was a businessman and local politician. The son of Henry Perring, a house furnisher, of Harlesden and Elizabeth Charlotte née King. Along with his brother William he worked for his father's business, manufacturing furniture and upholstery in Tottenham Court Road. In 1893 he set up his own furnishing company, John Perring Limited, in Richmond, Surrey. His company subsequently expanded with stores at Putney, Tooting and Twickenham. In 1897 he married Florence Higginson.
