Originally created in Prague by the legendary Rabbi Leow to be the defender of the Jewish people the Golem was put away and deactivated after it grew unruly (just as in the original legend). However Brod uncovered the Golem and sent it to Halcyon, who used ancient magic to transfer his spirit into the construct and escape his dying body - however Halcyon would soon surrendered control of the Golem after Goliath and Max Leow convinced him that abusing the power of the Golem was wrong.
