Boll Weevils were Great War vintage biplanes that the Confederates made use of in the Second Great War. In west Texas the Confederates were reduced to making harassing raids with Boll Weevils. The airplane would come in at treetop level and the pilot would toss a five to ten pound bomb out of the cockpit when he came over a target. The low altitude made it difficult for Y-ranging to spot them until they attacked. While they would not win the war for the Confederacy, they did pose a nuisance which, on occasion, proved deadly.
