Dean Gatiss was born on 4th March 1976 in Glossop, Derbyshire and on Coronation Street played the role of decorator Greg Simpson in December 1991. He was brought up in Sale, Cheshire and attended Ashton on Mersey High School, where he and two other classmates were offered roles in Childrens' Ward. Dean attended South Trafford College, Timperley for a short while, where he played drums for a college band. Other credits include roles in Taking the Floor, Bhaji on the Beach, Desmond's, Heartbeak, Peak Practice, Agony Again and The Detectives.
