The Democratic Republic of Neualtenburg was a self-governed community founded by Ulrika Zugzwang and Kendra Bancroft in the Anzere sim, that later moved to an island sim named Neualtenburg. Having started in 2004, it lasted until June 2006 when a dispute arose between the founders and the rest of the group. Although the elected government retained control over the old Neualtenburg private island simulator, alleged copyright problems forced a great deal of reconstruction upon them, and work on a second simulator under the same government has begun.
