Technician Rollins was a member of Starfleet. In 2282, Rollins was the head technician aboard a shakedown cruise of the USS Enterprise. Rollins ordered that the food synthesizer systems be updated, something which Captain Spock did not think was an essential project. Rollins asked Spock to base his opinion by ordering Vulcan food from the synthesizers, which Spock did and was impressed by. (TOS - Enterprise Logs short story: "Just Another Little Training Cruise")
