In 2366, Starfleet introduced two new types of uniforms. The first type (type A) was essentially the same of the previous design, but modified to become a two-piece uniform and slight aesthetic details were changed. (Star Trek: The Next Generation) The second type (type B) was gradually phased in and saw a more radical redesign, with the division color being displayed around the shoulder, and the black color filled out the rest of the uniform. A gray undershirt was also worn underneath. (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager) All rank insignia are worn on the collar.
