Sir Jonald Ashby was the commanding officer of the small number of remaining soldiers who were guarding Westwood, when it was just a small village in the first versions of Part Two (v1.03 and earlier). He could be found with Lady Whent on the upper floor of the older version of the Castle. Sir Jonald and his men were away on a diplomatic mission in the east and were unable to return to Betancuria in time to join the fight against the Dhorn. They stayed to protect Westwood after most of the male residents of the village died fighting off the Dhorn invasion. He was a possible henchmen.
