Brother George was a sensible and solid-looking male mouse. He and Brother Rufus guarded The Gatehouse and the threshold for Methuselah the morning after Matthias and Constance had seen Cluny the Scourge and his horde. Later George and Rufus reported an incident with one of Cluny's rats, who had tried to get in the Abbey.
