Ground cover for the lawn or yard is the stuff that we put out to cover the ground. Most commonly in the suburbs it is grass, but it can be other plants (such as moss) or plant material (pine needles or mulch) or rocks and other decorative objects, such as a stream and bridge. Other alternative ground covers include ivy or low growing shrubs.
