The Soviet Kingdoms are a number of minor nations set up by the Soviet and Eastern European expeditionary forces aiding the MPLA government in Luanda during the Angolan Civil War. Following the nations collapse, many of these small units rapidly took over small areas of the country-side, specifically in the West, establishing a number of "kingdoms". Shortly after Doomsday, it is estimated that at least ten such nations existed, the People's Democratic Republic of Angola being the most successful. However, through efforts of destabilization, revolution, coups, and other factors largely driven by the major factions within the region, only three of these "kingdoms" remain in power, largely because they are quite distant from the main areas of conflict.
