Distichites is a ceratitid ammonite and type for the Distichitidae that lived during the Late Triassic (middle Norian). Shells are evolute, compressed, with a narrow groove or furrow running along the outer rim. Ribs bend sharply forward on the ventrolateral shoulders, generally with nodes in the umbilical and ventrolateral areas. Sutures are ammonitic with serrated saddles and lobes. Distichites has been found the the Alps, Himalaya, and in British Columbia. Related genera include Ectolcites, Paradistichites, and Pleurodistichites.
