Zarahemla, a descendant of Mulek, was the leader of Mulek's colony who dwelt in the land of Zarahemla. They left Jerusalem at the time of Zedekiah. Their language had become corrupted, they had brought no records, and they denied God. They were discovered by Mosiah who then introduced the brass plates to this numerous people, who rejoiced that the Lord had sent them the record of the Jews (Omni 1:14). One of Zarahemla's descendants was Ammon who inquired of Limhi of his brethren that had been led by Zeniff. Another descendant was Coriantumr, an apostate Nephite. Zarahemla also had a city named after him.
