Crayford is a town and electoral ward in South East London within the London Borough of Bexley: settlment dates back to the Iron Age. It is located on the Greater London/Kent border, and was formerly part of Kent. It was an important bridging point in Roman times across the River Cray, a tributary of the River Darent, which is itself a tributary of the River Thames.
