First, go find it swimming on the sand, it's darker and bigger than the Cephalos. Whenever it's swimming near you throw a Sonic Bomb to make it jump and step on land, and hack away. Note that Flash Bombs don't work on it. I suggest you either use Ice or Thunder and hit it's stomach, where you are safest from its attacks.
