Luke Skywalker was a legendary soldier and Jedi who helped defeat the Galactic Empire and found the New Republic, as well as the New Jedi Order. Born in 19 BBY, the son of the prolific Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and the late Naboo queen Padmé Amidala, he was raised on Tatooine in solitude to hide from Emperor Palpatine and his father, now known as Darth Vader, Dark Lord of the Sith.
