His teleplay was later rewritten by Joe Menosky, which helped get him a job on The Next Generation's writing staff. (Star Trek: The Next Generation Companion 2nd ed., p. 154) "Clues" was Arthurs' only writing contribution to the Star Trek franchise and is his only known writing credit.
