The Slate is Microsoft's large-screen format touch-screen-only portable computer, manufactured by HP. It comes in three forms: a two-screen book-style touchscreen, a 7" slate, and a 10" slate. The slates are both 16:9 format, the 7" in 720p, and the 10" in 1080p, and capable of viewing HD content. Both are less than a third of an inch thick, with battery live measured from 8 to 12 hours, depending on usage. They are multi-touch capable, have a webcam, and accept pen input as well. With a bluetooth headset and a wireless plan, users can also make cellular calls from the device and have unlimited data plans as well.
