The Archon-class cruiser is the workhorse of the Federal Guard, engaging in a diversity of missions from reconaissance to exploration to frontier patrol. The stock Archon is heavily-armed, with a spinal-mounted ultra-heavy mass cannon, four spinal-mounted super-heavy mass cannon, sixteen heavy mass cannon in four quad turrets, four ultra-heavy mass torpedo tubes forward and two ultra-heavy mass torpedo tubes aft, along with 96 F-42 starfighters in drop bays located along the outer ventral sections of the ship, and sixteen Warhammer-class gunships in drop bays on the ship's centerline ventral section.
