After a research ship and a rescue ship disappear in the same location, the Seaview sets out to investigate. Captain Lee Crane swims to a nearby island in hopes of discovering the reason why the two ships sank. While on the island, Crane meets Dimiti, a man who cannot speak. Dimiti claims that there is an underwater city - and he leads Crane to a point on the shoreline so the captain can investigate.
