Ed Vortan was a member of the failed Imperial Genetically Engineered Trooper project begun shortly after the destruction of the first Death Star. The project used outlawed cloning chambers to develop soldiers quickly to fill performance gaps in training and loyalty. The subjects were born at age eighteen fully flash educated and trained. An implanted Rebel training virus turned the troopers against the Empire, but failed to fully turn them to the Alliance's cause. The six surviving troopers secluded themselves on Raptor Station, the lab facility where the experiments were conducted. G.E.Ts are stronger than the average Human. It is unknown what came of Vortan.
