Discoveries are an additional feature introduced in New Horizons. Located in villages throughout the world, these findings are worth a fortune and help increase the player's adventure fame. The chances of seeing a discovery is determined by the villagers' friendship levels which can be raised with the entertain command. There is also a small possibility for crew members to desert upon finding a discovery; this automatically occurs if the player happens to find a monster.
