Daniel Libeskind (Łódź, 12 may 1946) is a Polish-Jewish architect, who in 1965 became naturalized American citizen. He is the son of Holocaustsurvivors. He designed, among other things, the Jüdisches Museum Berlin. He also designed for the Royal Ontario Museum the Michael Lee-Chin Crystal, which was completed in 2007. His design for the 1 World Trade Center was chosen as a replacement for the World Trade Center in New York. In the Polish capital Warsaw he designed the Zlota-44, a skyscraper of 192 m.
