Drake was a Human serving in Starfleet in the 24th century. In 2370, the USS Zapata was under the command of Captain Drake. The Zapata was transporting Admiral Leonard McCoy to the Stugg border, when Ambassador Spock was captured by the Romulans. The Zapata met with the Enterprise to drop off Admiral McCoy.
