A flex-mask was a type of facial covering used to alter one's appearance. Originally used in the production of holovideos, to change an actor's facial features to match their role, they were eventually adopted by spies who wanted to disguise their appearance. They were incredibly realistic, and were nearly indistinguishable visually and by touch when applied by a skilled dresser.
