Shrak pits were large desert creatures that buried themselves in the sand and left its mouth on the surface for catching prey. A shrak pit's mouth was quite large in size, allowing it to catch larger prey. During adolescence, the shrak pit buried itself in the ground and used its roots to anchor itself so it can leech nutrients from the ground to grow. After it had finished growing, its body and roots were completely enclosed in the ground, with only its pit-like maw on the surface. Its maw was very useful, since it was shaped like a pit, prey would usually fall in and be swallowed. The mouth also had tentacles on the rims of its gums that would latch out and grab prey and pull it into its mouth to be eaten.
