The hospitality industry comprised all businesses whose aim was to make patrons feel welcome, such as bars. In 2375, Vic Fontaine sympathized with Quark when the Ferengi complained about having little business in Quark's Bar do to everyone being "off fighting this stupid war". Vic suggested that Quark felt helpless staying behind while his friends were in danger.
