Outpost 61 was a Cardassian outpost located in the Almatha sector along the Demilitarized Zone that served as both defense and advanced warning. On stardate 48467.3, it was under the command of Gul Toran of the Sixth Order. In 2371, as the USS Defiant, under the command of Lieutenant Thomas Riker, entered into Cardassian space, Maquis starships of Squadron Baker launched a diversionary strike against this outpost.
