The Hippocritic Oaf appeared in the "Cliff's Nightmare" episode of The Cosby Show. With a name tag reading "Dr. H. Oaf," the creature pleads with Dr. Huxtable to rush to the hospital for an emergency delivery of a Koozebanian baby. His name is a play on the Hippocratic Oath taken by physicians pertaining to the ethical practice of medicine. The puppet appeared in episode 103 of The Jim Henson Hour as a storybook king (and hat sharpener), also performed by Kevin Clash. He is a background Muppet in episode 108, during "All Night Party."
