The Open Government Initiative is an effort by the administration of President Barack Obama to "creating an unprecedented level of openness in Government." The philosophy of the initiative is the government should be transparent, participatory and collaborative. Agencies across the federal government are establishing Open Government Web pages and asking the public for ideas and suggestions.
