The Sheliak Corporate was the governing body of the Sheliak species, a technologically advanced non-humanoid civilization from the Alpha or Beta Quadrants. The Corporate had a brief conflict with the United Federation of Planets circa 2255 which ended with the Treaty of Armens. (TNG: "The Ensigns of Command") Some territory held by the Corporate was close to that of the Breen Confederacy, which caused tension between the two powers well into the 24th century.
