The Bourne franchise is to be a trilogy of action/espionage/spy-thriller movies that will begin with the initial film this year and will likely end with the pre-announced release of the third - and probably final - movie six years from now, in 2003. Adapted from Robert Ludlum's bestselling novels, (with the screenplays actually co-written by Ludlum) the films star Mark Wahlberg as 'Jason Bourne'/David Webb, an initially retrograde amnesiac CIA operative and assassin being chased around the world by various hostile organizations and operatives either bent on revenge or use of his skills.
